Quran Academy
Vision
IEC is starting a Qur’an Academy to inspire lifelong learning of Qur’an, advance the knowledge of Qur’an, and strengthen our communities by implementing the teaching of Qur’an. By Creating Qur’an Academy, IEC is providing more opportunities to community members to learn different aspects of Qur’anic studies.
Registration
Registration and the course selection process is very simple. Students will be registering for the Qur’an Academy. Registration for each class is not required. After successful registration, participants can start attending the class.

Fee
There is a nominal fee for attending the Quran Academy. Fee is not by course. Students can attend as many classes. Details are listed below:
- Single Person $15 per month
- For family of two or more, first person will pay $15 and each additional person will pay $5 per month but the sum will not be more than $40 per month altogether.
- Details of submitting the fee will be emailed upon registration.
Note: Fee can be waived upon request.
Information for Prospective students:
- Attending the Quran Academy classes is simple and flexible.
- Participant and teacher can mutually decide on switching the class in case if the course is not the perfect fit for the participant.
- After submitting the registration form, admin will send a welcome email. Please read the email for details.
- Participants are not encouraged to attend the class prior to receiving the welcome email.
- Audio or Visual recording is prohibited in all the classes unless permitted by the instructor.
- All participants are expected to treat each other with respect.
- Timings of all those classes that fall during the hour of Salaat can be adjusted by the teacher for the congregational prayer.

Below are different programs offered by IEC Qur’an Academy. Please be advised all classes conducted are gender specific. Female students must take classes conducted by female instructors and Male students must take classes conducted by male instructors. There are no age restrictions to participate in any class unless and until specified under course.

Courses
For better understanding of the course, detail course description is listed below:
- Qiraat & Tajweed (Basic)
Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of Arabic alphabets and some level of Qur’an recitation.
Qiraat and Tajweed basic course will focus on basic Qur’an recitation. Students in this course will learn to improve their recitation by reciting designated pages from the Qur’an. Pages to be recited will be uploaded to the website daily, so students can practice in advance. This course will encourage and train students to recite Qur’an daily. - Qiraat & Tajweed (Advance)
Prerequisite: Fluency in Qur’an recitation
This course will focus on advance recitation. Students will learn advanced Tajweed, Tarteel and Qirat rules. - Memorization of Qur’an
Prerequisite: Basic Qur’an recitation
Memorization of the Qur’an course will give students the opportunity to learn Qur’an memorization techniques. These techniques can be used by students to further memorize the rest of the Qur’an independently. As part of the course, students will memorize a few surahs for the sake of practice. - Memorization of Dua, Ziaarat and Selected Surah
Prerequisite: None
Memorization of Dua, Ziaarat and selected surahs course will focus on memorization of duas from the treasures of Aimmah such as Dua-e-Kumayl, Dua-e-Sabah’, Dua-e-Iftitah and many more. The Ziaraat memorization section will deal with the memorization of Ziarat-e-Ashura, Ziarat-e- Ale Yaseen, Ziarat-e-waritha to mention a few. The selected surah section will deal with memorization of a few short surahs as part of the class. - Translation & Mafaheem
Prerequisite: Basic Qur’an recitation.
Translation & Mafaheem course will focus on the techniques of translation. These techniques will help students to build a skill that will aid them in understanding Qur’an while reading in Arabic. - History and Knowledge of Qur’an
Prerequisite: None
History and Knowledge of Qur’an course will include significance of history of Qur’an, revelation and sequence of revelation, Shan-e-nuzool, Asbab-e-nuzool, wahi and its kind, and writers of wahi. This course will also mention the names and attributes of Qur’an, whether the surah is Makki or Madani or both. Topics such as preservation and modes of decent of the Qur’an, addition and deletion of words and transposition, identifying fixed position like ‘Ahzab’ (plural for hizb) or manzil will be looked at. This course will include recognizing Ajza or parts, Huroof-e-muqatt’at or disjointed letters (Saud; Quaf; Ta-Ha, Ya-seen etc.), examples, swears and miracles of the Qur’an. - Tafseer of Qur’an
Prerequisite: None
Tafseer-e-Qur’an course will focus on the tafseer written by renowned scholars such as Allama Muhammad Hussain Tabatabai’, Ustad Nasir Makaram Sherazi and Aga Pooya. - Tafseer-e-Ayaat-e-Zanaana
Prerequisite: None
Tafseer -e-Ayaat-e-Zanaana course will deal with ayaat related to women in the Qur’an. In this course, women will not only gain in-depth understanding for betterment of their lives in this world as well as next. - Mysteries and riddles of Qur’an from the Prophet’s stories (Offered Semi-annually)
Prerequisite: None
Mysteries and riddles of Qur’an from the Prophet’s stories is geared towards children ages 7-13. As the name suggests, children will learn Qur’anic facts in a fun, friendly and enjoyable way.
Semester 1: Jamadiul ula – End of Ramadhan.
Semester 2: Shawwal – Rabbi-uth-thani.
